in pop culture, taxes of the rich and (in)famous

He may have had a lot to show on Survivor, but Richard Hatch, the first ever "Survivor" winner, apparently tried to conceal a little bit, too.

Hatch had been charged with two counts of tax evasion earlier in the year.  He withdrew his guilty plea, charging that he believed that CBS was responsible for paying the tax.  Maybe that wasn’t his best strategy.

As of today, he has been indicted on 10 counts, including the original charge of tax evasion.  He is additionally charged with filing a  false tax return, wire fraud, bank fraud and mail fraud.  He is also accused of misusing funds from a nonprofit camp (Horizon Bound) that he established.

The charges could lead to up to 75 years in prison and millions of dollars of fines.

I’m thinking I see the possibility for yet another Reality TV appearance.  Something with Martha, perhaps?
